As we continue to grow, we're looking for a talented In-House Commercial/Corporate Lawyer to join our dynamic Legal team and play a key role in supporting our diverse UK operations.

You'll work closely with business leaders across retail, rental, fleet, and support functions — helping navigate legal challenges, reduce risk, and unlock commercial opportunities. You'll take a proactive approach to problem-solving and play a vital part in enabling the business to achieve its growth ambitions responsibly and effectively.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced, forward-thinking organisation, where you'll provide pragmatic, solution-focused legal advice that helps shape the future of one of the UK's largest automotive retail groups.

Your journey as an in-house commercial/corporate lawyer:

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including supplier, customer, IT, marketing and property contracts
• Partner with business functions such as Sales, Finance, HR, Procurement and Marketing to deliver clear, practical legal guidance that supports day-to-day operations
• Provide advice on consumer law, data protection, and advertising standards relevant to the automotive industry
• Support corporate transactions — including acquisitions, disposals, and restructuring — by assisting with due diligence, governance, and documentation
• Manage subsidiary governance matters, ensuring compliance with Companies House requirements and other corporate obligations
• Contribute to compliance and risk initiatives, supporting policies and training on topics such as anti-bribery, competition law, and data protection
• Liaise with external counsel where necessary, ensuring effective management of legal disputes and projects
• Build strong, trusted relationships with teams across the business and act as a go-to advisor for legal and commercial matters
• Help shape internal processes, templates, and guidance to drive continuous improvement within the Legal team

Do you have what it takes to be a Lithia UK colleague? We're looking for someone who has:

• Strong academic background and qualified solicitor (England & Wales)
• NQ–4 years' PQE, with solid experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
• In-house experience desirable, though candidates from private practice with strong commercial exposure are also encouraged to apply
• Confidence advising stakeholders at all levels, with the ability to balance legal risk against commercial opportunity
• Exceptional attention to detail, organisation, and communication skills
• A proactive mindset, with the confidence to take ownership and drive positive outcomes
