This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality short breaks for children and young people with disabilities and complex health needs

About The Role
As a Residential Child Care Officer, you will work under the guidance of the Registered Manager to provide exceptional care and support to children and young people. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Delivering direct care and support to children, ensuring their individual needs are met.
• Implementing and promoting positive behaviour management strategies.
• Contributing to the development and implementation of care plans.
• Monitoring and recording the progress and well-being of children.
• Providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to thrive.
• Working collaboratively with other professionals, such as social workers and educators, to ensure holistic support for children.

About You
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

• A genuine passion for working with children and young people with disabilities and complex health needs
• Relevant experience in a similar role, providing direct care and support.
• Sound knowledge of child development and appropriate care practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding procedures.
• Diploma Level 3 for Residential Child Care or relevant qualification
