Purpose of Role

We are looking for a highly organised Commercial Assistant to join our Defence business area. This role offers excellent development opportunities, including potential progression towards Quantity Surveying. If you have strong attention to detail and experience in subcontractor billing and cost management, we'd love to hear from you.

Job Description

As a Commercial Assistant, you will support the Senior Commercial Manager and work closely with a Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Administrator. You will play a key role in managing subcontractor billing, cost and revenue reconciliation, and identifying chargeable work. This position is ideal for someone with an accounts or estates background who wants to grow within a commercial environment.

Responsibilities

Review and process subcontractor billing and payments.

Perform cost and revenue reconciliation.

Identify and track chargeable work.

Communicate effectively with subcontractors and internal teams.

Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with financial processes.

Support commercial reporting and assist with database management (e.g., Maximo).

Essential Qualifications/Skills

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Experience in subcontractor billing and payment processes.

Ability to reconcile costs and revenues accurately.

Confident with Excel and familiar with recognised databases.

Solid career history with minimal job-hopping.

BPSS security clearance required

Desirable:

Experience working with a Finance Business Partner or Quantity Surveyor.

Background in Facilities Management or subcontracting.
