Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant with an experience in phlebotomy to join our new clinc team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting patient care and assisting healthcare professionals in a dynamic clinical environment. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about healthcare and looking to develop their skills within a reputable organisation. Prior hospital experience and relevant technical skills are highly desirable, but full training will be provided for suitable candidates committed to learning. The role requires compassion, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of medical procedures and terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examinations or procedures, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout
  • Collect specimens such as blood samples or urine samples following aseptic techniques and laboratory protocols
  • Assist medical staff with patient care activities
  • Monitor patient vital signs and report any significant changes to the medical team
  • Support with procedures and other basic clinical tasks under supervision
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient information and procedures performed
  • Adhere strictly to infection control policies, including aseptic techniques and hygiene standards
  • Support patients with specialised care needs when required
  • Work under medical team and be accountable for actions
  • Assist with laboratory testing procedures, including phlebotomy and specimen handling

Experience

  • Previous clinical experience in blood and sample collections is a requirement
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is beneficial for understanding patient needs and procedures
  • Skills in basic life support (BLS), and laboratory techniques are desirable
  • Experience working with paediatric patients is a plus but not mandatory
  • Familiarity with aseptic techniques and infection prevention protocols is preferred
