Job Summary

We are looking for a friendly and reliable cook/chef to join our team in our pub. You would be responsible for preparing and cooking a range of English pub classics, ensuring all the dishes are fresh and served to a high standard. You will also need to lead assistance chefs and work along side our other chefs to cater for any functions we take in our hall.

Duties

  • Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient food preparation and presentation.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food production, cooking, and plating.
  • Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, considering current trends and customer preferences.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene within the kitchen.
  • Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control costs to optimise operational efficiency.
  • Train and mentor junior staff in culinary techniques, food safety procedures, and customer service standards.
  • Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery during busy periods.
  • Monitor quality control throughout the food preparation process to uphold brand standards.
  • Assist in creating a welcoming environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar role within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment.
  • Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Strong background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques.
  • Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards.
  • Experience in menu development and culinary innovation.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, along with hospitality knowledge.
  • Ability to serve customers courteously when required and maintain professional conduct at all times. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Chef to showcase their culinary talents while leading a dynamic team in a vibrant setting.
