About the Gold & Silver Contract Management Function

The Gold & Silver Contract Management Function is a strategic capability within the organisation. It provides robust oversight of the most complex, high-value, and high-risk commercial contracts. These contracts underpin critical services and support the organisation's long-term objectives. The Function ensures strong governance, compliance with commercial policy and regulatory frameworks, and the delivery of maximum value from supplier relationships.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced
G7 Commercial Contract Manager
to manage a portfolio of
four Gold
and
one Silver
strategic contracts. This is a senior role requiring strong commercial leadership, excellent stakeholder management, and the ability to operate confidently in a complex and fast-paced environment.

You will act as the intelligent client for your contract portfolio, ensuring delivery against performance measures, identifying opportunities for improvement, and safeguarding value for money. You will provide authoritative commercial advice to senior stakeholders and ensure activities align with organisational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end management of
    4 Gold
    and
    1 Silver
    contracts, ensuring high performance, compliance, and strong financial stewardship.
  • Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships, acting as a senior commercial escalation point.
  • Drive effective contract governance, including KPI/SLA management, contract change, and risk and issue resolution.
  • Lead negotiations and commercial discussions, ensuring outcomes support organisational objectives.
  • Provide expert commercial insight to senior colleagues, including analysis of risks, opportunities, and delivery options.
  • Ensure all commercial activities adhere to public procurement regulations, internal governance, and audit requirements.
  • Support improvements in commercial capability across the organisation and the wider contract management community.
  • Work collaboratively with operational, legal, finance, and policy teams to enable joined-up delivery.

About You

You will have a strong track record in managing complex, high-value, or high-risk contracts within the public sector or similarly regulated environments. You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Excellent commercial judgement and contract management expertise.
  • Experience leading strategic supplier relationships and driving high performance.
  • Confidence in navigating complex issues and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • A structured, evidence-based approach to risk management and reporting.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Ideally, membership of or accreditation with a relevant professional body (e.g. CIPS, WorldCC) or equivalent commercial qualifications.
