Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom Tenyks Full time £80,000 - £120,000 per year

Introduction

We're looking for a
Senior Operations Lead
to join Tenyks, an award-winning
Cambridge University spinout
, using the world's most
advanced Vision AI
to transform how brick-and-mortar businesses unlock hidden value from their existing operations.

You'll work side-by-side with our CEO to drive strategic initiatives, build scalable systems, and help the company grow faster and smarter. This is an exceptional opportunity to be
deeply embedded in the founding journey
- shaping both the business and its operational foundations as we scale.

About Us

Tenyks is a
Cambridge University spin-out
and
YC-backed
team building the world's most advanced Visual Intelligence platform — think
VideoGPT for the physical world
. Our mission: turn the 60 million years of visual data captured across the planet into operational intelligence that transforms how real businesses run.

Our first focus is hospitality. We're already working with
Top 5 US restaurant brands
- including McDonald's, Burger King, and Wendy's - to eliminate slow service, remove friction from customer journeys, and
unlock billions in efficiency gains
. This isn't theory; this is hard engineering meeting real-world scale.

We see a clear path to
adding $1T of value to the global economy
by upgrading customer experience and improving working conditions for frontline teams. If you've ever waited 12 minutes for a Starbucks coffee, you'll understand exactly the kind of problems you'll help erase.

Our team blends Cambridge/Oxford PhDs, world-class Vision AI experts, and founders who have built 5+ previous companies. We operate fast, think long-term, and ship work that matters.

Culture: The Five Tenets

Learn with Zest
- Growth mindset (Curiosity & love of learning)

Shoot for the Stars
- Going the extra mile. Do more than asked for.

Be Anti-fragile
- Having a thick skin, take ownership and eagerly tackle tasks of any level.

Great Artists Ship
- Be resourceful to reach your outcomes, use a hacker mindset and commit to getting things done.

Stay Together -
Be loyal and honest, and always maintain a sense of humour.

We're meritocratic, straight talking, and driven by impact over politics.

What We've Built

Tenyks delivers
measurable revenue uplift
and margin expansion for brick-and-mortar operators by decoding customer flow, labour efficiency, and real-world operations with cameras and Vision AI at scale.

We've raised
$4M+
from top-tier investors including Y Combinator, Speedinvest, Firstminute Capital, LAUNCHub, and Cambridge University.

Awards include:

  • Sifted "Rising Star" in GenAI
  • Edge AI Alliance "Best Product of the Year"
  • Cambridge University "Company of the Year" (previous winners include DeepMind)

We've evolved from an academic spin-out into a category-defining AI company building the operating system for physical spaces.

What You'll Do

As our Senior Operations Lead, you'll be the
operational engine
behind Tenyks - ensuring we move fast, stay focused, and scale sustainably. You'll build the processes, systems, and rhythms that enable our CEO and leadership team to execute at the highest level.

Your role will combine strategy, operations, finance, and people - with exposure to every key area of the business.

Operational Excellence

  • Own and improve company-wide processes across finance, HR, legal, and compliance
  • Oversee payroll, payments, vendors, and accounting (via platforms such as Deel, Xero, and Carta)
  • Implement systems for scalability (Vanta, Notion, Zapier, HubSpot, Google Workspace)
  • Manage key operational relationships with suppliers, partners, and customers

Strategic & Commercial Support

  • Partner with the CEO to plan and execute strategic initiatives, partnerships, and growth projects
  • Create ROI calculators, partnership summaries, and board materials
  • Support financial modelling, forecasting, and investor reporting
  • Manage data integrity and visibility across tools (HubSpot, Google Sheets, Notion)

People & Culture

  • Coordinate recruitment logistics, visa applications, onboarding, and internal communication
  • Plan team events, retreats, and company getaways
  • Develop documentation and internal guides (playbooks, templates, etc.)
  • Champion a high-trust, high-performance, and fun remote culture

Enablement & Growth

  • Lead operational readiness for pilots, customer onboarding, and case studies
  • Assist with go-to-market support: Marketing ops, Google Ads, and content coordination
  • Identify automation opportunities and efficiency improvements across the business

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a sharp, structured, and resourceful operator - someone who loves turning chaos into clarity, and who thrives on impact and autonomy.

Must-haves

  • 3–5 years' experience in operations, business management, or Founder's Associate roles
  • Strong analytical, prioritisation, and organisational skills - able to analyse, design, execute, and optimise processes & systems
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills - you must be able to quickly connect with colleagues, providers, investors, customers etc.
  • High level of initiative and willingness to improvise to deliver outcomes
  • Curious and growth-oriented mindset
  • Courage to give and receive feedback in a candid manner
  • Low ego, happy to get hands-on and stuck in.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in startups or fast-scaling tech companies
  • Comfort with data and digital tools (Google Workspace tools, Notion, HubSpot, Zapier, ChatGPT, other no-code tools)
  • Familiarity with ops, HR, finance, and security tools (e.g. Deel, Carta, Vanta, Xero)
  • High business acumen, and exposure to SaaS or AI-driven businesses
  • Design/aesthetic skills (e.g., ability to create polished presentations, marketing materials, and case studies using tools like GSlides, Canva or Figma)

Career Growth & Development

This is a high-impact, founder-facing role with a steep growth curve. The role allows you to be one of the people who know the company best. You'll gain exposure to every aspect of building and scaling a company - from strategy and operations to partnerships and customer success.

As you grow, you'll have a clear pathway toward roles such as Head of Operations, VP Operations, Chief of Staff, or other C-level roles, depending on your strengths and ambitions.

As you grow, you'd quickly have a team around you, including an Executive Assistant, dedicated Designers, Web Developers, Social Media Team, and other vendors, allowing you to focus on strategy and high-leverage initiatives.

Perks & Compensation

  • Competitive salary + equity
  • Remote-first culture with flexibility and trust
  • 28 days annual leave + your birthday off
  • Biannual team getaways
  • Budget for learning, tools, and wellbeing
  • The chance to shape how the physical world runs - powered by AI

Don't meet every single requirement? Please apply anyway

We value outcomes and potential over perfect CVs. If you're excited about our mission and think you could make an impact, we'd love to hear from you.
