What you need to know about the role
As MRP (Material Resource Planner) Controller, your role will encompass all aspects of managing a profile of consumable and engineering spares materials replenishment to optimal level. Ensuring the daily procurement plan is executed efficiently to meet the evolving needs of the plant withing the constraints of established budgets and annual maintenance plan.
Some principle accountabilities are:
- Timely validation of system generated purchase requisitions
- Obtaining quotes from validated suppliers for non-contracted materials
- Expediting of deliveries to agreed delivery date
- Engagement with plant engineers as required in managing replenishment and stock holding levels
- Regular review of spares replenishment Material Master data
What we need to know about you
We are seeking an individual with a strong working knowledge of SAP MM and PM functionalities, along with the ability to quickly grasp the British Steel inventory management process.
The successful candidate must have a high level of education, including solid commercial, IT, and communication skills. Familiarity with the Scunthorpe site and its facilities would be beneficial, as well as a general understanding of engineering terminology. Additionally, a clear understanding of British Steel governance regarding the creation and maintenance of material master data is advantageous.
A strong grasp of Materials Resource Planning (MRP) procedures is also essential for this role.
