Part Time (Tues & Fri)* - Finance Assistant / Book-keeper

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Finance Assistant / Book-keeper to join our team at Clonter Farm Music Trust - a 400 seater rural theatre near Congleton, Cheshire. This is a varied role supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation, ideal for someone with strong bookkeeping skills and a proactive approach. It is essential that applicant has own transport.

*Tues and Fri is the ideal but negotiable.

Salary - Negotiable / dependent on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process purchase and sales ledger transactions
  • Prepare and organise weekly payment runs
  • Accurately allocate incoming and outgoing payments
  • Perform credit control and follow up overdue accounts
  • Handle accounts-related queries from suppliers and internal team
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations
  • Raise and issue sales invoices
  • Manage the accounts email inbox
  • File financial documents and assist with general administrative tasks
  • Maintain and update customer accounts to ensure accurate records
  • Support month-end close procedures and assist with other finance-related tasks

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Proven experience in a similar finance or book-keeping role
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficient in accounting software, ideally Sage 50
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and email management
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
