Deputy Nursery Manager – Little Fishes Pre-school & Nursery (Braunton)

At Little Fishes Pre-school & Nursery, part of the Coastal Childcare Group, we're looking for a Deputy Manager who can bring energy, expertise, and a touch of sparkle to our already outstanding setting.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading, supporting, and motivating a team of dedicated early years practitioners
  • Acting as the right hand to the Nursery Manager—and confidently stepping up in their absence
  • Creating a safe, nurturing, and curiosity-filled environment where children thrive
  • Building strong partnerships with parents, carers, and professionals
  • Keeping the nursery vibrant, welcoming, and at full occupancy

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has proven leadership experience in an early years setting this is the perfect opportunity for a Room Leader or a qualified Level 3 Early Years Practitioner that is ready to take that next step up in their career.
  • Understands the EYFS inside out and is confident with safeguarding responsibilities
  • Communicates with warmth, clarity, and confidence
  • Brings positivity, resilience, and a solutions-focused attitude every day

The details:

  • Full-time, 35 hours per week (flexible across our opening times: Monday–Friday, 7.30am–5.30pm)
  • Location: Braunton (please ensure you can commute easily)
  • Experience: At least 2 years in childcare preferably with Level 3 qualified.
  • Enhanced DBS (with update service subscription) required
