Deputy Manager – Nursing Home

Location: Stourport-On-Severn, DY13

Hours: Full Time – 40 hours per week

Shifts: Days – 3 shifts on the floor + 2 supernumerary shifts

Salary: £24.50 per hour

Job Overview

A well-regarded nursing home in Stourport-On-Severn (DY13) is seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to support the Home Manager in delivering high-quality care and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Nurse (NMC Registered) with strong clinical expertise, leadership skills, and experience working in a nursing home environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Home Manager in overseeing daily operations and maintaining exceptional standards of care.
  • Work 3 clinical shifts on the floor, providing hands-on nursing care and leading by example.
  • Complete 2 supernumerary shifts focused on management duties, audits, staffing, and compliance.
  • Ensure safe medication management and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
  • Lead, supervise, and mentor nursing and care teams to promote best practice.
  • Conduct assessments, care plan reviews, and risk management processes.
  • Assist with staff rotas, recruitment, training, and performance monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with CQC regulations and internal policies.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Support continuous improvement and contribute to a warm, resident-centred culture.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (NMC Pin) – RGN, RMN, or RNLD
  • Previous experience as a Senior Nurse, Clinical Lead, or Deputy Manager in a nursing home.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and confident decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to balance clinical and managerial responsibilities.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
