Automotive Technical Support Specialist

Overview

Our client is seeking an Automotive Technical Support Specialist to join their aftersales function in a full-time, permanent role. Reporting to the Technical Support Team Manager, you will provide high-quality technical support to a large national network of retailers, ensuring accurate diagnostics, timely resolutions and exceptional customer service.

This role involves remote technical support, use of approved diagnostic platforms, and on-site dealer visits where needed. You will collaborate closely with customer service teams, technical centres, brand experts and training centres to ensure complex technical issues are resolved effectively and efficiently.

Responsibilities


• Provide expert technical support and resolution guidance to the national retailer network via approved systems, remote diagnosis and dealer visits.


• Take ownership of technical enquiries, ensuring guidance is accurate, customer-centric and aligned with global quality and response targets.


• Proactively drive case resolution through hands-on repair coaching, remote support and efficient issue escalation.


• Collaborate with customer service, technical services and training teams to ensure effective communication and issue progression.


• Identify opportunities for process improvements that enhance dealer support and drive efficiency.


• Analyse technical information to determine the best resolution paths for customers.


• Support the adoption of preventative measures and emerging technologies within the retailer network.

Requirements


• Proven background in diagnosing a wide range of vehicle systems, with strong practical experience in vehicle repair.


• High Voltage Expert qualification preferred; minimum requirement of Master Technician level or equivalent.


• Strong computer and analytical skills to support remote diagnostics and troubleshooting.


• Excellent communication skills with the ability to relay technical information clearly to varied audiences.


• Highly motivated self-starter capable of managing multiple technical issues concurrently.


• Commitment to delivering world-class customer satisfaction and operational excellence.


• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a technical team.


• Full UK driving licence.
