The opportunity

We are a completely independent Network for Mortgage and Protection brokers with over 850 members across the UK. As we continue to grow, we are looking to expand our Quality team of File Assessors responsible for conducting File Checks on behalf of our advisers.

While this role is hybrid, the successful candidates must reside within a reasonable distance from our Head Office in Knowle, Solihull, as they will need to work from the office at least once a week.

Responsibilities of a Mortgage File Assessor

  • To undertake case file reviews ensuring they meet the relevant standards set by the company
  • To liaise daily with advisers offering help and assistance with the processes and use of the back-office systems (Acre)
  • Communicate with the compliance team regarding concerns/issues
  • Chasing up any outstanding compliance requirements
  • To be able to identify any risks to the company/adviser on the advice provided

Requirements of a Mortgage File Assessor

  • All candidates must have full CEMAP OR FPC 1, 2
  • An ER1 or CeRER qualification is desirable, though applicants without it will be considered provided they are prepared to study towards achieving it.
  • Excellent communication skills and financial industry background
  • Strong Mortgage, Equity Release, Private Medical Insurance and General Insurance knowledge
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Experience using databases
  • Accuracy and good attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills

Preferable but not essential:

  • Strong knowledge on bridging, commercials, Buy to Lets and Residential

Salary of a Mortgage File Assessor

  • £23,500 - £27,142 dependant on experience for our higher salary banding you must possess all the required qualifications/experience as stated above

Working Pattern of a Mortgage File Assessor

  • Monday - Friday
  • 9am - 5pm
  • The successful candidate will be required to work from our Head Office in Knowle a minimum of once a week.
