Nurses UK is searching for dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to join our exceptional care team and support the delivery of outstanding healthcare services for children and young people, including those with autism and additional needs, across the Dorset area
Pay: £13.68–£17.18 per hour plus time and a half on Bank Holidays.

As a Healthcare Assistant, your hands-on support will be vital in promoting comfort, dignity, independence, and a positive daily experience for children, including those with autism, learning disabilities, and complex needs. Working alongside teachers, SEN staff, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams, you'll play a key role in helping children access education and daily activities safely and confidently.
Main Responsibilities:- Deliver compassionate personal care to children and young people.
- Provide tailored support to children with autism, sensory needs, communication differences, and behavioural challenges.
- Assist with daily living activities (washing, dressing, mobility, toileting, feeding, etc.).
- Support children in classroom and school environments, ensuring safety, engagement, and inclusion.
- Implement structured routines, visual aids, and de-escalation strategies where appropriate.
- Monitor and report changes in pupils' well-being, behaviour, or health to senior staff.
- Support nursing, SEN, and clinical teams in delivering holistic, child-centred care.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and supportive care and learning environment.
- Accurately document care provided in line with service and safeguarding requirements.
- Promote dignity, independence, communication, and emotional well-being in all interactions.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant or Support Worker in the UK (preferred).
- Experience working with children, especially those with autism or additional needs (highly desirable).
- Care Certificate or willingness to complete relevant training.
- Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to fast-paced or emotionally challenging environments.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
- Commitment to high standards of care and professional practice.
- Right to work in the UK.
