The Role

We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Quality Inspector with strong expertise in Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operation and programming. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting precision components, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications, and maintaining high standards of quality throughout the production process.

You will primarily be based at Alloyed's headquarters in Yarnton, reporting to the Head of Production. A highly competitive remuneration package is offered, including salary and equity incentives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform dimensional inspections using CMM equipment (manual and/or CNC-controlled).
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and technical specifications.
  • Program CMM machines using software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar.
  • Responsible for the control plan
  • Conduct first article inspections (FAI), in-process checks, and final inspections.
  • Document inspection results and generate quality reports.
  • Identify and report non-conformances and assist in root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Maintain calibration and cleanliness of inspection tools and equipment.

Essential Qualities & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Quality Inspector in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in operating and programming CMM machines.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and mechanical inspection techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with aerospace, automotive, or medical device components.
  • Knowledge of additional inspection tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges).
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and quality documentation systems.

Working Conditions:

  • Workshop or lab environment.
  • May involve standing for extended periods and handling small precision parts.
  • Use of PPE as required.
