You will be leading this from a compliance perspective.

Reporting to a top-tier Chief Legal Officer.

Compliance Responsibilities

  • Design and refresh compliance policies and procedures to align with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive monitoring plans to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
  • Deliver regular compliance training and awareness programs for employees and leadership.
  • Serve as the primary contact for regulatory bodies on matters of compliance.
  • Oversee regulatory reporting requirements and efficiently communicate directives and circulars across the business.
  • Operate monitoring systems to detect, investigate, and address breaches of compliance.
  • Record and escalate compliance incidents to senior management, the Board, and regulators as required.
  • Perform compliance reviews and present outcomes to senior stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Track regulatory developments within financial services and translate emerging requirements into operational actions.
  • Partner closely with Legal Counsel to ensure compliance and legal objectives are consistently aligned.
  • Promote a culture of transparency and accountability through targeted training and internal initiatives.
  • Lead compliance activities related to new product launches, strategic partnerships, and market entry initiatives.

MLRO Responsibilities

  • Create and uphold anti-money laundering (AML) policies and procedures in line with evolving regulatory needs.
  • Undertake AML risk assessments, pinpointing high-risk areas.
  • Supervise client onboarding and due diligence, including risk assessment and periodic reviews.
  • Support, review, and enhance background screening processes.
  • Act as the principal liaison for regulators on all AML-related matters.
  • Receive, review, and escalate suspicious activity reports (SARs/STRs), and file them with authorities when appropriate.
  • Provide AML-focused training and ensure key updates on directives and sanctions are shared internally.
  • Conduct semi-annual AML reviews and deliver findings to senior management and regulators.

Role Requirements

  • At least 7 years' experience in compliance within financial services, fintech, or payments environments—with
    exposure to crypto/digital assets.
  • In-depth knowledge of AML, KYC, sanctions, and transaction monitoring frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience working with regulators, auditors, and financial institutions at a senior level.
  • Ability to operationalize compliance in fast-growing, dynamic businesses.
  • Analytical, pragmatic, and commercially minded approach.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with close attention to detail.
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and adaptable in high-paced settings.
