We're currently recruiting for a leading European Investment Bank to recruit a Senior Compliance Officer to join their high-performing compliance function. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to take on a strategic, market-facing role within a globally recognised institution. This is for a 6-12 month contract (inside IR35) and will require someone who can start within 2 weeks.

The Role

As Senior Compliance Officer, you will play a key role in shaping and strengthening the bank's compliance culture. Working closely with senior leadership and front-office teams, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures aligned to regulatory requirements and best practice
  • Designing, enhancing, and testing compliance controls across the trading environment
  • Providing high-quality compliance advisory support to business lines, ensuring day-to-day activities adhere to internal and external standards
  • Monitoring trading activity to ensure compliance with local regulatory expectations
  • Supporting and leading key regulatory programmes and initiatives across the business

This is a hands-on, influential position offering the scope to work across multiple asset classes, engage with senior stakeholders, and contribute to a continuously evolving regulatory landscape.

Experience Required:

  • Significant experience in a market-facing compliance role, ideally within an investment bank or similar financial institution
  • Strong knowledge of European regulatory regimes (e.g., MiFID) and proven experience applying them in practice
  • Broad product expertise across multiple asset classes, including derivatives
  • Demonstrated experience in building, enhancing, and implementing compliance frameworks
  • Excellent communication skills, sound judgement, and the ability to partner effectively with front-office teams
