Southampton Ashford Brighton Kings Hill, United Kingdom Stantec UK Full time £60,000 - £100,000 per year

Do you have a passion for engineering and a desire to make a real difference?

Stantec is working with a number of major water companies to find sustainable solutions to the challenges facing the industry today. Following unprecedented levels of investment into the industry, we are looking to appoint Design Managers to support major regulated water programmes across the South of England.

This is your chance to:

  • Lead and develop project teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Work on exciting water projects that push boundaries and make a significant impact.
  • Partner with top water clients across the UK, shaping the future of the industry.

Right now, we are actively involved in the design and management of major projects across water sector, with significant opportunities coming from our appointment onto Southern Water's AMP 8 Professional Services framework. This has created this opportunity for a Design Manager to join our team, be based from either our Brighton, Ashford, Kings Hill or Southampton offices, with hybrid working allowing for a combination of in-office and home working.

As a Design Manager within our Major Projects community, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of major projects, bringing together skillsets from multiple disciplines. You will oversee all aspects of delivery across major projects, holding roles that may include delivery of design & build projects, detailed design delivery and owners engineer services – all requiring complex multi-disciplinary collaboration both internally and externally.

You will play a fundamental role within projects to identify innovative and sustainable solutions, work collaboratively with the client and other partner organisations, plan technical delivery, and lead multidisciplinary teams. You will lead the team to deliver best value and client service excellence. You will have access to Stantec's world-class expertise to help you exceed client expectations.

This represents a great opportunity to join a part of our business with huge growth potential. The opportunity will appeal to those looking to work collaboratively to drive continuous improvements and best practice, and to exceed client expectations. Our UK & Ireland business continues to grow at an impressive pace - this is a great time to join and help develop a mature project delivery offering.

About You

You will have prior experience of working in a role where you have provided design leadership on major projects – either as a Design Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer or Project Leader. You will most likely be from a technical background – either technical engineering, construction management, environmental or other consulting backgrounds.

You will hold qualifications in engineering or project management with an understanding of large and complex construction / engineering projects, in particular within water or related infrastructure sectors.

Through your previous roles within project delivery you will have experience of achieving a position of trusted partner with clients and other stakeholders, and acting as a mentor for less experienced team members. At all times you will support, promote and maintain our company values, especially in ensuring we put our people & clients first.

Why Join Us

This is an exciting time to join Stantec, with the opportunity to tackle challenging new projects across the region and growth plans extending throughout the AMP cycle and beyond. In addition, all employees have access to our company wide benefits, including:

  • Work on the challenging & impactful Thames Water framework
  • Individualised development plan alongside company wide org structure highlighting pathway for progression, ensuring you always know where your career is heading
