Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in a care home or home care setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills in English, be able to follow care plans accurately, and have a basic understanding of IT systems to maintain patient records efficiently. A valid driving licence is preferred for those assisting with transport needs.

Responsibilities

  • This particular individual requires support with suctioning, PEG feeding and observing at all times.
  • Support the implementation of individual care plans, ensuring that each patient's needs are met.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide updates on patient status.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient care and report any changes in condition to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional.
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in healthcare practices.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to follow care plans meticulously and demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Basic IT skills for maintaining patient records and documentation.
  • A valid driving licence is preferred for roles requiring transportation of patients.
  • A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
