We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Care/Support Worker to join our team of Personal Assistants, providing support to a client in the Blackburn area on a casual basis. You'll be supporting our client with Autism and PICA, who is also profoundly deaf and non-verbal, in leading an independent and fulfilling life both at home and in the community. Our client enjoys a range of sensory activities, especially swimming and visits to the space centre.

The right person will be patient, reliable, and enthusiastic, with a genuine passion for supporting individuals with complex needs to live life to the fullest

You will be working as part of a small team on a 2:1 basis

A car driver is essential to enable you to support our client in his own vehicle out in the local community.

Hours:

16 Hours per week (Saturday and Sunday 9am-5pm)

In return Salvere Support offers:

  • Competitive rate of pay £14.00 per hour, and £21.00 per hour for bank holidays

All training is provided and will consist of e-learning courses, face-to-face sessions, practical training, clinical training and competencies. The training is bespoke to the client and fully comprehensive for meeting their needs. We also provide refresher training on a regular basis, to keep your knowledge and skills current.

Who we are looking for:

You must be self motivated, well organised, reliable and an excellent team player. As well as being a naturally caring and compassionate person, we're seeking Care / Support workers with experience of:

  • Providing support to clients with a severe learning disability and profound deafness
  • Supporting with personal care
  • Administration of medication.
  • Providing companionship
  • Household cleaning as part of the day to day routine.
  • Working as part of a team of PAs
  • Experience in learning disabilities (preferred but training will be given)
  • Following the care plans and current safety guidelines

You should also have:

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness
