About the Role

YGS Landscapes Ltd is an established commercial landscaping and grounds maintenance contractor operating across Devon and Cornwall. We are seeking an experienced Grounds Maintenance Landscaping Team Leader to lead site-based teams delivering high-quality grounds maintenance and landscaping works across commercial and residential developments.

This role requires 3 years proven team leader experience and a clear commitment to Health & Safety, quality and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise grounds maintenance teams on commercial and domestic sites
  • Plan and manage daily workloads to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and on programme
  • Carry out grounds maintenance activities including mowing, hedge cutting, pruning, weed control and general site upkeep
  • Operate and maintain equipment including mowers and hedge cutters
  • Tow trailers and equipment safely and legally
  • Ensure all works comply with Health & Safety requirements, RAMS and company procedures
  • Conduct site assessments and monitor quality standards
  • Complete accurate records
  • Maintain company vehicles and equipment, completing daily checks and reporting defects
  • Apply pesticides and herbicides in line with legislation and best practice
  • Deliver toolbox talks and support the training and development of team members
  • Represent YGS Landscapes professionally when interacting with clients, site managers and the public

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' proven experience as a Team Leader or Supervisor
  • Strong experience using:
  • Pedestrian and ride-on mowers
  • Hedge cutters and grounds maintenance equipment
  • Experience towing trailers and equipment
  • PA1 & PA6 Pesticide Application Certificates
  • CSCS card
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Good physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Reliable, resilient and organised with strong communication skills

Desirable

  • SSSTS qualification (or working towards)
