Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-in Carer to provide exceptional, person-centred care and support to adults in their own homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in adult care settings such as domiciliary or live-in care and a genuine passion for helping individuals maintain their independence, dignity, and well-being.
This is a live-in position, meaning you will reside with the client and provide consistent, high-quality care tailored to their individual needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to promote comfort and mental well-being.
- Administer medication as per care plans and monitor for any changes in health or condition.
- Prepare nutritious meals in line with dietary preferences and requirements.
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and movement around the home safely and confidently.
- Carry out light housekeeping to maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment.
- Support clients with conditions such as dementia, Parkinson's, or palliative care needs.
- Encourage engagement in meaningful activities and social interaction.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and promptly report any concerns to the care coordinator or family.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in live-in care or similar adult care roles (domiciliary, nursing home, or residential care).
- Knowledge of person-centred care, safeguarding, and medication management.
- Ability to assist with manual handling and mobility support safely.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with clients and families.
- Empathy, patience, and professionalism in all aspects of care delivery.
- Competence in meal preparation and maintaining daily household routines.
- A valid UK driving licence is strongly preferred (required for clients with mobility or community support needs).
