Overview

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Cafe Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing excellent customer service while ensuring the smooth operation of our café. This position involves a variety of tasks, including food preparation, serving customers, and maintaining food safety standards. Responsibilities

  • Deliver warm, attentive service to all guests
  • Supervise daily café operations to ensure efficient service
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures
  • Support barista and counter service, ensuring product excellence
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workspace
  • Help manage stock levels and place orders as required
  • Train and support new team members
  • Support rota planning and daily task management
  • Handle customer feedback professionally
  • Support cash handling and daily reconciliation
  • Prepare and serve food and beverages in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the café area.
  • Assist customers with their orders, providing recommendations when necessary.
  • Operate coffee machines and other equipment, ensuring proper usage and maintenance.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately, demonstrating basic math skills for processing payments.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management as needed.
  • Adhere to food safety guidelines to ensure the quality and safety of all products served.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a barista or in a similar café environment is essential.
  • Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours.
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude towards customers and colleagues.
  • Confident leading a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Reliable, organised, proactive, and calm under pressure
  • Knowledge of coffee and/or health-focused food (preferred)
  • Food safety & hygiene understanding (Level 2/3 preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills with a friendly disposition towards customer service.
  • Basic mathematical skills for handling transactions accurately.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £14.00-£15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
