Risk and Governance Officer

Coleraine | £18.41–£20.02 per hour | Full-time, 37 hours per week

Staffline Recruitment Ireland is hiring on behalf of
Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council
for a Risk and Governance Officer to join their team based in Cloonavin, Coleraine.

This role is responsible for leading and continuously improving the Council's risk management framework, ensuring effective governance, compliance, and business continuity across all departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on embedding and improving the risk management framework
  • Coordinate effective risk management across the Council
  • Oversee implementation and compliance with risk strategy, policies, and procedures
  • Support the Audit, Risk and Governance Manager with corporate governance work
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and legislative requirements
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to good governance and health and safety standards

Essential Criteria

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Insurance, Business, or Administration
  • Minimum two years' relevant experience, including:
  • Conducting risk management audits, assessments, and maintaining risk registers
  • Implementing and reviewing business risk management processes
  • Managing governance-related matters
  • Providing support and advice to departments or stakeholders
  • Knowledge of local government operations and corporate governance principles
  • Full UK driving licence and access to transport
