We are seeking a polished and well-organised Reservations & Events Coordinator to join our premium Pan-African and Caribbean restaurant in Mayfair. This is a full-time role following a Tuesday to Saturday working pattern, with occasional late finishes when events are scheduled. The position combines reservations management, event coordination, and reception hosting, ensuring every guest receives a seamless and exceptional experience from first contact to final farewell.

THE ROLE

As the first point of contact for guests, you will manage reservations, oversee group enquiries, support private dining and restaurant events, and handle front-desk hosting during service. The role requires a calm, professional presence, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a refined, high-expectation environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reservations

  • Manage daily reservations via phone and email
  • Maximise covers while maintaining the restaurant's premium service standards
  • Handle dietary requirements, special occasions, and high-priority bookings
  • Maintain accurate guest notes and communicate requirements to the FOH team
  • Manage group bookings from initial enquiry through to final confirmation

Events

  • Respond to enquiries for private dining and full or partial restaurant events
  • Prepare tailored proposals, menus, timelines, and event briefs
  • Coordinate closely with the kitchen and FOH teams to ensure smooth event delivery
  • Assist with event preparation, including layouts, schedules, and guest logistics
  • Manage deposits, payments, and post-event follow-ups
  • Support and stay late on event days when required

Reception & Hosting

  • Welcome guests and manage the flow of arrivals
  • Oversee walk-ins, waitlists, and seating to maintain an organised front desk
  • Provide a warm, professional concierge-style presence at reception
  • Answer calls, take bookings, and respond to enquiries with clarity and efficiency

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum one year of experience in reservations, events, or front-of-house coordination
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • Professional telephone manner and composure during busy periods
  • Ability to work Tuesday–Saturday, including evenings and occasional late shifts
  • Right to work in the UK

DESIRABLE

  • Experience using SevenRooms and OpenTable
  • Background in private dining or corporate events
  • Knowledge of the Mayfair dining scene
  • Familiarity with CRM systems
  • Second language skills
