About The Role:

Context and Current State:


• The Trading Risk team is focused on transforming the Process, Data, Systems landscape in Risk/Finance within a Trading environment. The programme is currently in progress and spans the entire organization, covering multiple countries, lines of business, and functions. It includes various projects and programmes at different stages of maturity and delivery.


• Currently, 50-60% of the necessary structure is in place and operationally sound. However, to achieve full maturity, a seasoned programme or portfolio manager is needed to establish a comprehensive programme, including vision, narrative, structure, ways of working, cadence, and governance.

Challenges:


• Governance Gaps: While some parts of the programme have robust governance, others lack senior governance. Initiatives often start as philosophies and evolve into projects, approved in an ad-hoc manner without a structured decision-making process.


• Narrative and Strategic Thinking: The overall programme narrative needs to be shaped, and time must be allocated for strategic thinking to determine stakeholder engagement timing.


• Stakeholder Engagement: A detailed stakeholder engagement plan is required to outline who is engaged and when, ensuring effective communication and coordination.

Your Background Needs To Include:


• Programme Manager: A seasoned professional is needed to build and run the programme, capable of setting the vision, developing the narrative, and aligning stakeholders.


• Solid experience within Energy / Commodities Trading is essential for this role.


• Engagement and Communication: The manager must engage stakeholders at the right time and in the right way, keeping them updated and involved.

This needs combining with a positive attitude and an ability to work within a large, globally dispersed project team in a multi-cultural environment. You also need to be a self-starter, a logical thinker and a quick learner, with strong initiative and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, able to write clearly and concisely.
