About the team
The Head of Local Policing and her Senior Leadership Team are responsible for all front-line uniformed police services in the City of London Police, including response teams, firearms, public order, dogs, mounted and traffic units, command and control and neighbourhood policing teams.
The Senior Leadership Team consists of the Chief Superintendent for Local Policing, two Superintendents, a grade F senior police staff member and five Chief Inspectors.
About the role
This role provides administrative and organisational support to the Head of Local Policing and the wider SLT, working closely with the Chief Superintendent and Superintendents' staff officers to ensure the smooth running of the office, coordinate diaries and ensure all supporting administrative processes and functions are provided.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be:
- A central point for all communication between the Head of Local Policing and internal and external contacts.
- Responsible for organising diaries of the Head of Local Policing and wider SLT.
- Coordinating and planning internal and external meetings, producing accurate minutes and collating and circulating meeting papers and actions.
- Preparing documentation, including presentations, briefings and reports using Microsoft Office and other relevant systems.
Requirements
For this role, we need you to have experience of:
Taking minutes and organising meetings.
Effective oral communication skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels in the organisation and outside agencies using tact, discretion and diplomacy, and maintaining confidentiality.
Effective written skills, to be able to draft replies for correspondence.
Dealing with information of a confidential/sensitive nature.
Well-developed administrative/organisational skills with a keen sense of priorities and the ability to show initiative and work with the minimum of supervision.

Selection Process
As part of the initial application process, you will be asked to evidence how your experience, skills, and knowledge demonstrate your ability to meet the person specification of the role.
The application and interview will be tested under Level 2 of the College of Policing Competency and Values Framework.
Applicants who fail to address the skills/knowledge/experience of the job description will not be considered.
The closing date for applications is 22nd December 2025.
Following shortlisting, successful candidates will be invited to attend a competency-based interview, to be held week commencing 12th January 2026.
