About the Practices
We operate two busy NHS/Private dental practices located in Old Trafford and Wilmslow. Each site has a strong clinical and administrative team, with a dedicated Practice Lead in Wilmslow. The Senior Practice Manager, based primarily in Old Trafford, will oversee both practices to ensure operational excellence, compliance, and efficiency. As the owners are not based on-site, the successful candidate will have full responsibility for the day-to-day management and smooth running of both practices.
Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Senior Practice Manager to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across two dental practices. This senior role requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to lead and motivate teams while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Administrative Leadership
- Full responsibility for operational performance across both practices, ensuring compliance with NHS, CQC, and BDA standards.
- Manage NHS contracts, correspondence, and all statutory reporting requirements.
- Oversee financial operations including supplier payments, payroll, tax obligations, business rates, utilities, insurance, and debt recovery.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training of all team members, ensuring full compliance and documentation.
- Monitor and report on performance targets, patient satisfaction, and operational KPIs; address underperformance proactively.
- Ensure robust clinical governance, safety audits, and emergency preparedness (fire safety, decontamination, CQC compliance, etc.).
- Manage IT systems, practice management software, and liaise with suppliers for maintenance or issue resolution.
- Provide regular operational and financial updates to the Director.
People Management & Leadership
- Act as the first point of contact for staff matters, conflict resolution, and well-being support.
- Manage performance reviews and ensure consistent adherence to practice policies and standards.
- Support the resolution of complex patient complaints and sensitive cases.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented culture focused on patient care and professional growth.
Facilities & Equipment Management
- Oversee maintenance, repairs, and improvements for both practice sites.
- Manage equipment functionality, servicing schedules, and replacement planning.
- Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to ensure timely completion of works and minimal disruption to operations.
Additional Responsibilities
- Manage government and NHS schemes, including apprenticeships and compliance submissions.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties to support the efficient operation and continuous improvement of both practices.
About You
- Experienced in multi-site dental or healthcare practice management.
- Strong understanding of NHS dental contracts, CQC requirements, and compliance frameworks.
- Financially literate with experience in budgeting and payroll.
- Confident leader with excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.
- Proactive, reliable, and able to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
