By the end of the programme, you'll be well‑positioned to step into an Audit Senior role, with continued support for further professional qualifications aligned to your chosen path.
Thrive within our high-performance culture as you experience hands-on learning, tailored training, and a strong support network.
Where you'll be workingOur Group Internal Audit team plays a vital role in keeping Nationwide safe and sustainable for our members. We work alongside colleagues across the business to provide independent assurance to the Board and executive management, helping them understand how well our governance, risk management, and internal controls are working in practice.

What you'll be doingWe're offering an exciting opportunity for graduates and career changers to join our new three-year programme designed to develop your expertise in both Internal Audit and Data Analytics.
You'll rotate across our audit delivery teams and spend dedicated time with our specialist Data Analytics team, building the skills to use data to assess risk, uncover insights, and influence decision-making. You'll work as an Audit Associate, gaining hands-on experience while studying towards a recognised Internal Audit professional qualification.
You'll be joining a well-established Internal Audit function of around 140 colleagues based across the UK, working together to provide independent assurance that protects Nationwide's assets, reputation, and long-term sustainability.
Year 1, build a strong foundation in internal audit and develop analytical skills with our Data Scientists, supported by mentoring and professional study.
Year 2, apply your audit and data skills to real assignments within an audit delivery team, deepening your understanding of the business.
Year 3, complete a short secondment in another area of the business before returning to Internal Audit to take on more responsibility and prepare for a future Audit Senior role.
