Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our care home team specialising in residential care and senior care. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a compassionate approach to dementia and Alzheimer's care, and a solid background in care home environments. This role involves supporting the management team in delivering high-quality personalised care, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with care plans and regulatory standards. The Deputy Manager will play a vital role in fostering a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment for residents with diverse needs.

Duties

  • Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations of the care home, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.
  • Supervise and support care staff, providing guidance on best practices in dementia, Alzheimer's, and elderly care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of personalised care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
  • Administer medication in accordance with prescribed protocols, maintaining accurate records.
  • Lead by example in delivering compassionate, person-centred care that promotes dignity and independence.
  • Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and industry standards.
  • Support staff training programmes to enhance skills in dementia care.
  • Engage with residents' families to communicate progress and address concerns effectively.
  • Assist with recruitment, performance reviews, and staff scheduling to ensure adequate staffing levels at all times.

Experience

  • Proven experience working within residential home environments, ideally with senior or dementia care specialisation.
  • Strong background in healthcare management with previous supervisory or leadership roles.
  • Familiarity with developing and managing care plans tailored for residents with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia.
  • Experience administering medication safely within a regulated setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively while maintaining high standards of resident care.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices related to elderly and dementia care is essential. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents while working within a supportive team dedicated to excellence in eldercare services.
