Yard Operative/Forklift Driver

Do you hold a current Forklift and a tele-truck / telehandler licence, and ideally have experience working within the recycling industry?

Overview of the role:

As a Yard Operative you will be responsible for tasks including; the loading and unloading of containers and curtain siders, recycling sorting, conducting machine checks, using plant machinery such as a Fork Lift and tele-handler and; ensuring good site housekeeping.

Hours:

Monday – Friday (40 hrs week). 8 hr shifts.

Potential to work up to 10 hours per shift (50 hrs week) - optional.

Weekend work is optional (Enhanced rate).

Typical shift patterns start at either 6am, 7am or 8am

Salary: £12.89 per hour

What we'll need from you:

You must

• hold a current licence for a Forklift truck and ideally have a telehandler licence.

• have previous experience in using an FLT or telehandler in a workplace environment.

• have awareness and understanding of Health & safety procedures on an industrial site.

• Ideally have experience working in the recycling industry.

What you'll be doing as a Yard Operative

The main tasks of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Loading and unloading containers and curtain siders using a Fork Lift Truck

• Ensuring machinery and plant equipment are in good working order

• Undertaking daily checks on work areas and plant machinery

• Removing non-conforming materials from material bought to site

• Rotating stock around the site

• Ensuring good site housekeeping, including, the cleaning of the yard

• Ensuring Health & safety regulations are adhered to

• Ensuring the company's environmental polices and procedures are adhered to

• Liaising with the Weighbridge operator to understand daily inbound/outbound material and stock levels

• Any other reasonable tasks as directed by the manager
