Role Details:
Lead team of planners for the portfolio, SME for P6. Ensure all planning documents (Process / procedures) are up to date and fit for purpose. Govern level 2 schedule, Lead on integrated plan with the customer, ensuring monthly drumbeat and necessary inputs and received with required progress / forecast updates. Meet reporting requirements through monthly drumbeat and into monthly reviews. Continue to develop Project specific schedules. Ensure clear Baseline and work baseline control process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Leadership and management of the Planning team
- Lead on development of key planning processes and procedures, ensure they are maintained throughout the lifecycle of the project
- Lead on planning support to QSRA requirements.
- Lead on schedule baseline change process.
- Primavera (P6) SME for the project
- Govern project schedule, and report against through agreed monthly drumbeat. Support development of integrated plan for site
- Manage interface with all contractors to ensure monthly drumbeat requirements are met.
- Proactively forecast, trend and analyse using all data available within the networks
- Develop Project specific schedules that clearly identify the project processes and linking of activities as required for multi-functional project team interfaces
- Maintain communication with all key stakeholders, other project controls personnel (Cost controllers, Document controller & estimators) to help ensure excellence in delivery of project control function
- Support the programme with the implementation of EVM, Cost and Resource loaded schedules
- Provide project manager with complete and accurate planning schedule(s), capable of providing on a routine basis (as agreed), critical path and EVA data by individual project.
- Identify Schedule variances as early as possible, report issues to the Project Manager and develop mitigation strategies.
- Provide the project with a complete and accurate Project Planning service.
- Review all appropriate engineering, procurement, manufacturing and site construction project schedules and advise the Project Manager of variances to baseline.
- Facilitate Interactive Planning (IAP) Sessions with project team and client project, ensuring risks are mitigated and opportunities escalated.
Role Requirements:
- Line management experience preferred
- Exceptional Primavera (P6) knowledge (SME)
- Experience of major projects containing integrated schedules
- Experience, across all stages of the project life cycle
- Substantial experience of planning services in medium to large sized projects within the construction industry
- Experience in managing schedules on NEC Projects
- Good experience in the use of planning techniques and the relevant planning toolset
- Good understanding of the various forms of tender documents, contract documents and specifications
- Good understanding of the various methods of planning, programme, and progress monitoring
- Good understanding of risk and opportunity management with reference to planning & programming
- Good understanding of the events that initiate, and of the methods used to demonstrate, delay, or change entitlement
- Good understanding of the construction market, methods of construction, plant, equipment, and labour requirements
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office in particular; Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong communication skills, including writing reports & presenting.
