What does the Job look like?

Currently we require a night porter to cover the various shifts on a weekly basis.

As Night Porter, you must be confident to work alone and autonomously. Offer night-hour assistance, including luggage handling and package deliveries, to Guests in order to create an exceptional experience from check-in through check-out. A Night Porter contributes to the first impressions of our Guests and, therefore, must perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

Achieve positive outcomes from Guest queries in a timely and efficient manner

Demonstrate a high level of customer service at all times

Clean public areas and restaurant during the night as directed by the Late Duty Manager

Clean any function rooms as directed by the Late Duty Manager

Collect room service/ breakfast cards

Serve Drinks in the bar & Rooms Service orders.

Complete fire walks, and, in case of an emergency

Act in accordance with all security and emergency procedures and manage the instigation of these, as required

Complete the Night Audit process.

Attend appropriate training courses, when required, and assist with the Night Team new procedures / policies.

Demonstrate current knowledge of hotel products, services, pricing and policies, as well as knowledge of the local area

Follow company brand standards

Assist other departments, as necessary.

Other tasks maybe required which are not listed above.

A Night Porter working for Castlewood Hotels is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

  • Passion for delivering great customer service at all times
  • Comfortable with working nights
  • Confident with being able to work alone as this role is predominantly lone working
  • Attention to detail – looking at things from a guest perspective in important
  • Confident with IT systems / processes – full training will be given on the IT systems.
  • Presentable at all times
  • Good team work ethic is crucial to success
