Senior Building Surveyor – Cardiff (Hybrid Working)

An opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Senior Building Surveyor to join a growing consultancy team in Cardiff. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy and project ownership, and who wants to contribute to shaping a high performing, client focused service.

The business delivers work across multiple sectors and offers genuine scope for development, continuous learning and progression. You'll work on a mix of challenging and meaningful projects, supported by a collaborative team culture, flexible working arrangements and structured training pathways.

The Role

As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will play a key role in delivering technical and professional services to clients, supporting projects from inception through completion. You will take ownership of commissions, lead on project delivery, and maintain strong client relationships through excellent communication and a proactive approach.

Key Responsibilities include:


• Managing project commissions through all stages


• Contract Administration and Employer's Agent duties


• Design and specification writing


• Pre-acquisition surveys and due diligence


• PPM and asset condition assessments


• Quality and technical monitoring


• Fund and bank monitoring


• Defects analysis and reporting


• Dilapidations


• Party Wall matters

About You

You will bring a positive, solutions focused mindset and a commitment to delivering high quality outcomes for clients. You enjoy working collaboratively, supporting others and adding value across teams and projects.

Qualifications & Experience:


• Degree in Building Surveying or a related technical discipline


• MRICS (or working towards)


• Strong project experience with ability to manage work proactively and independently


• Excellent specification writing skills


• Good working knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts


• Track record of delivering projects from inception to completion


• Comfortable managing multiple stakeholders and deadlines


• Experience supporting and mentoring junior surveyors


• Previous consultancy experience essential
