Domiciliary Care Assistant

Location: Castle donington and Surroundings Area (United Kingdom)

Salary: £12.21-£13.50 per Hour

Hours: 20-40 per Week

Job Type:

Job Overview:

Join us as a Domiciliary Care Assistant and become an integral part of our compassionate team serving the following areas:

  • Castle Donington
  • Charnwood North
  • Charnwood South
  • Hinckley and surrounding areas

In this rewarding role, you will provide essential support to individuals in their own homes, fostering independence and improving their quality of life.

We are currently recruiting:

  • 6 Female Carers
  • 4 Male Carers

(These positions are required to meet specific client care needs.)

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Support with mobility and transfers
  • Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals
  • Monitor and report changes in clients' health status
  • Prepare meals and assist with feeding
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks
  • Provide companionship and emotional support

Requirements

  • Clean, valid UK driving licence and access to your own car
  • Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written)
  • Minimum 12 months care experience in the UK
  • Experience working with clients with dementia, mobility issues, and end-of-life care
  • Ability and confidence to prepare and cook British meals
  • Completed Care Certificate
  • Full flexibility for early starts, late finishes, and alternate weekends
  • Experience using digital care recording systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Confidence in reporting client issues to healthcare professionals
  • Compassionate and caring attitude
  • Understanding of health and social care values, including dignity, safeguarding, and duty of care

Desirable:

  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in Adult Social Care (or willingness to start after probation)
  • Experience starting packages of care for clients
  • Experience completing care plans and risk assessments
