Progress Tutor in Graphic Design

Salary £32,304-£40,050 for qualified tutors

The Role:

This progress tutor role will be to join our highly experienced creative teaching team to teach Graphic Design while also providing pastoral support for our Level 2 and Level 3 students, including guidance on UCAS applications and career development plans. You will have the ability to use and teach the technical and creative skills involved in graphic design, from the full creative process to digital design workflows. A strong working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite is essential, particularly InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. Students also explore packaging design, branding, editorial work and creative image-making, so the ideal candidate will be able to guide them through these areas with confidence. You will also help students understand essential industry expectations such as file management, exporting, printing and responding effectively to client briefs. We welcome applications from industry specialists who have experience working with young people and are keen to continue developing their teaching skills.

Our students are highly successful and regularly work with a wide range of local employers, including Oldham Community Safety Partnership (OCSP), Oldham Council and the Oldham Central Primary Care Network (OCPN). Employer engagement is a major part of our programme, giving learners valuable opportunities to work on real briefs, develop industry understanding and build professional confidence. We are eager to attract individuals from the creative industry who have current skills, knowledge and professional experience they can share with our learners. We would also like applicants to be able to provide an outstanding learning experience for our students to enable them to achieve the highest standards in their design practice.

Our UAL Level 1, 2 and 3 courses ensure students are both academically and practically prepared for work within technically and creatively driven industries. Our creative study programmes offer students pathways in Graphic Design, Fashion & Textiles, Photography, Art & Design and Games Design. Students regularly take part in employer-led projects and competitions to develop their professional confidence and real-world design experience.

The Faculty of Digital and Creative sits in a purpose-built creative and digital skills building. Our resources are outstanding and includes;

• Creative teaching spaces for fashion design, graphics, games art, digital and 3D design, art, photography and textiles

• A media suite complete with podcast and recording studios, plus radio station and TV studios
