Job Summary
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our Adult Social Care and Reablement team. The successful candidate will help deliver strength-based OT interventions that promote independence, safety, and well-being in the home. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with qualified Occupational Therapists while supporting vulnerable adults and carers to achieve improved outcomes and maintain independence in daily living.
Responsibilities
- Conduct strength-based assessments and reviews for adults and carers under guidance from an Occupational Therapist.
- Support the design and delivery of occupational therapy interventions including equipment provision and environmental adaptations.
- Carry out mobility assessments and support applications for Blue Badges, travel concessions and assistive equipment.
- Monitor the effectiveness of equipment and adaptations to ensure safe and appropriate usage.
- Provide advice, information and signposting to relevant community and health services.
- Maintain accurate case notes, reports, and data entries in accordance with organisational guidelines and safeguarding standards.
- Work collaboratively with Occupational Therapists, social workers, physiotherapists and other professionals to support coordinated care.
- Help patients and their families understand how to use equipment, adaptations and services to maximise independence at home.
Qualifications
- Trusted Assessor qualification or equivalent (preferred).
- Knowledge of the Care Act, safeguarding, and OT legislation is desirable.
- Good communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families and colleagues.
- Strong documentation, report writing and IT skills for digital case management systems.
- Ability to prioritise workload effectively and work independently when required.
- Previous experience in health, social care or reablement environments is desirable; training will be provided.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: £17.05-£23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37 per week
