The Candidate –
You'll be a Manufacturing engineer with a background in mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing disciplines. You're passionate about process improvement, lean manufacturing, and driving excellence in production. You enjoy working cross-functionally and are confident in leading initiatives from concept to full-scale manufacturing.
The Role –
You'll lead the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes for new and existing products. This includes defining SOPs, driving DfM/DfT reviews, supporting NPI, and collaborating with R&D, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
Key Duties –
- Develop scalable, repeatable manufacturing processes
- Define SOPs, work instructions, and test procedures
- Drive DfM and DfT reviews with product teams
- Lead CAPA investigations and implement improvements
- Oversee pilot builds and transition to full-scale production
- Define tooling, fixtures, and jigs
- Collaborate across departments and with external partners
Other Responsibilities –
- Champion Lean and Six Sigma principles
- Use data to drive decisions and evaluate improvements
- Ensure compliance with QEHS and ISO standards
- Provide technical guidance and mentor junior staff
- Occasional UK/international travel (max 4 weeks/year)
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering
- Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ERP/MRP systems
- Proven track record in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent documentation and communication abilities
Desirable:
- Experience in NPI and cross-functional project leadership
- Familiarity with quality systems and compliance standards
