We are seeking experienced Structural Engineers to join our multidiscipline Engineering team on a contract basis. The role will report into to our Lead Structural Engineer and will work on a specific FEED Project with the option to extend into detailed design.

Our ideal individuals will have previous experience of working at Senior Engineer level on projects within the chemical and or pharmaceutical industries. Previous experience of FEED is essential.

We operate a hybrid working week with three days per week spent in our project office based in Hessle, East Yorkshire.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Structural Engineer will be responsible for executing structural engineering design and analysis during the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase of the project. The role involves developing robust, safe, and cost-effective structural solutions in compliance with project requirements, industry codes, and client specifications.

Perform structural design and analysis for steel and concrete structures supporting process equipment, pipe racks, platforms, foundations, and buildings.

Prepare and review design deliverables such as:

  • Design basis documents
  • Structural calculations and analysis reports
  • General arrangement
  • Material take-offs and specifications

Ensure designs comply with relevant international codes and standards (e.g., AISC, ACI, BS EN, Eurocodes, API, ASCE).

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (process, piping, mechanical, electrical, and civil) to ensure design integration and constructability.

Support preparation of FEED-level cost estimates and design schedules.

Participate in 3D model reviews and constructability assessments.

Provide technical input to procurement of long-lead structural items.

Interface with clients, vendors, and contractors as required.

Ensure that all work adheres to project HSE and quality standards.
