To lead and manage the sales team to drive sales performance, develop new business, and deliver exceptional customer service. Responsible for coaching and supporting the team to achieve personal and company targets, while shaping the sales strategy and building strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and develop the sales team to maximise performance, ensure consistent customer engagement, and meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Own and drive the sales pipeline – from enquiry handling to final conversion – ensuring a proactive and strategic approach to customer acquisition and retention.
  • Monitor and analyse sales performance, identifying trends, gaps, and opportunities; prepare regular reports and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Ensure all customer enquiries are handled in a timely, knowledgeable, and courteous manner, while ensuring all product requirements and delivery expectations are met.
  • Oversee pricing, margins, and profitability on every sale, ensuring transport, repairs, and accessory costs are factored into decision-making.
  • Sign off all quotations and sales documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with credit control and invoicing procedures.
  • Act as the primary liaison with Credit Control, Procurement, Logistics, and other departments to ensure a joined-up sales operation.
  • Lead customer relationship management (CRM) activity – supporting the team to maintain accurate records and driving engagement with prospective customers.
  • Ensure product knowledge is embedded across the team; coordinate training needs and stay informed of new and emerging equipment and technologies.
  • Promote new and innovative products to align with customer requirements and the company's strategic goal of being a market leader in sustainable sites.
  • Oversee aftersales service and customer feedback processes to ensure continuous improvement and high satisfaction levels.

General Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Ensuring all work is carried out in a safe and timely manner without risk to yourself and others whether on site or at a depot in line with the Company's Health & Safety Directives, Method Statements and procedure.
  • Complying with Company Policies and Procedures and upholding the Nixon Hire Values at all times.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality processes to ensure we are always compliant.
  • Carrying out any other duties as requested by immediate line manager or Director.
