Senior Tax Specialist – Corporation Tax (12‑month fixed-term)
Working hours: This role is available on a part-time, job-share or full-time basis
Salary: Circa £60,000 depending on experience plus an excellent benefits package
Location: Swindon/hybrid working (usually one day in the office per week)

The opportunity:
Join Group Tax and play a visible role in shaping Zurich's financial health and strategic growth. As Senior Tax Specialist in our UK Non‑Life Tax team you'll ensure our corporation tax position is robust, compliant and future‑ready — directly supporting business decisions, projects and new initiatives across the UK. Your tax expertise will help unlock efficiencies, reduce risk and enable the business to innovate with confidence.

What will you be doing?
- Lead preparation of corporation tax returns, filings and supporting workpapers, ensuring timely, accurate delivery that keeps Zurich compliant and audit‑ready.
- Prepare and explain quarterly tax provisions under IFRS and local statutory accounting — including reconciliations and clear reporting to management and external auditors.
- Act as a trusted advisor on tax audits, notices and controversy matters to reach timely, business‑friendly resolutions.
- Carry out technical research and deliver pragmatic tax planning advice that influences commercial decisions and project outcomes.
- Contribute to transfer pricing documentation, legislative change implementation and other cross‑functional tax workstreams.
- Identify and drive process improvements to increase efficiency, strengthen controls and reduce manual effort.
What are we looking for?
- Qualified accountant/tax professional (ACCA, CTA or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years' experience in corporate taxation with demonstrable experience preparing returns and provision packages.
- Clear, confident communicator who can explain technical tax matters to non‑tax stakeholders.
- Organised, methodical and commercially minded — able to balance technical accuracy with practical business solutions.
- Collaborative team player who can also take independent ownership of work.
- Proactive, self‑motivated and curious — keen to learn and to help the team modernise ways of working.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office; SAP experience is helpful but not essential.
