Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Workers to provide high-quality support to individuals in need of assistance. As a Care Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort and well-being in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks designed to promote independence and dignity among those you care for.
Duties
- Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in condition.
- Support clients with mobility and heavy lifting as needed.
- Engage in behaviour management techniques to promote positive interactions.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' mental well-being.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) in a respectful manner that promotes client dignity.
- Provide specialised care for individuals with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other cognitive impairments.
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities when required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in caregiving or related fields such as senior care, hospice care, or home care is preferred.
- Knowledge of patient care practices and first aid is essential.
- Experience working in nursing homes or assisted living environments is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- A valid driving licence is desirable for roles requiring transportation of clients.
