We are seeking an outstanding and experienced
Subject Academic Lead
to join Dipont International in our growing academic team. This role is ideal for a passionate educator with exordinary specialist knowledge and a proven track record in teaching, super curriculum design, and academic leadership to inspire and guide ambitious learners towards successful offers from Oxbridge/G5 universities.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in shaping our academic services offering—including but not limited to developing and designing high-quality academic content, driving and delivering excellent academic outputs and securing top university destinations, leading Oxbridge-collaboration projects and initiatives, and mentoring a team of part-time tutors.
This is a hybrid role that requires flexible remote working with on-site office throughout the year and a commitment to teaching in person at Dipont Independent schools in China for a minimum of two months annually.
You will work with high-achieving secondary and pre-university students, delivering exceptional one-to-one and small group tutoring for A-Level, IB, Personal Statement advice, and Oxbridge admission tests, mock interviews, as well as preparing students for national and international competitions. You will also contribute to product development, research projects, and the facilitation of collaboration with leading academic tutor teams.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum and Product Development
- Lead the design and continuous refinement of curriculum and learning resources for A-Level, IB, Oxbridge admissions tests, mock interviews, and academic competitions.
- Identify the subject specific knowledge enrichment required for Oxbridge interviews that is over and above A level and create stretching materials for students preparation.
- Contribute to the development of scalable academic products and digital content. Share and collaborate common methodologies and exam techniques across subject matters to maximise synergies for multiple disciplines.
- Analyse patterns and trends of different Oxbridge colleges' admission preferences, provide strategic advice to students for the most suitable choice of college and course to read.
Teaching and Tutoring
- Deliver high-impact one-to-one and small group tutoring sessions for students aiming for Oxbridge and other top global universities.
- Provide expert coaching and strategic preparation for relevant national and international competitions.
- Monitoring, Leadership and Training
- Oversee, support, and provide academic guidance to a team of part-time tutors to ensure consistent delivery standards and academic excellence.
- Conduct regular quality assurance reviews and offer professional development training and feedback.
Research and Strategic Projects - Lead or contribute to research projects with in depth specialist knowledge to enhance student's enrichment exposure.
- Develop an extensive academia resource network, including lecturers and professors from G5 universities to provide guidance and insights for various research topics in respective specialised fields.
- Support and facilitate Oxbridge collaboration projects, including joint events, student workshops, and summer camp activities.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Maintain clear, professional communication with students, families, and internal teams.
- Represent the academic department in internal strategic discussions and external academic
- partnerships.
- Qualifications and Competencies Academic Excellence
- Bachelor's degree in STEM or Humanties from the University of Oxford, Cambridge, or equivalent.
- Master's or PhD preferred, though exceptional candidates without a postgraduate qualification will
- be considered.
- Experience and Track Record
- Demonstrated success in tutoring or teaching secondary and pre-university students, with a focus on achieving high academic performance and obtaining targeted offers.
- Experience in Oxbridge admissions preparation and/or national/international-level competitions is essential.
- Leadership and Collaboration
• Proven ability to manage or mentor tutors and academic staff, ensuring consistent high standards of delivery.
• Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively across remote and in-person projects.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong curriculum design and educational content development skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and communication abilities.
- Strategic thinker with a flexible and adaptive approach to a dynamic academic environment.
- Fluency in English is essential; Mandarin Chinese is an advantage but not required.
