Operations Assistant – ProAmpac Elsham

Salary: £38,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm as core hours

Location: Elsham, North Lincolnshire, DN20 0SP

ProAmpac Elsham, a leading manufacturer in blown film extrusion, is seeking a proactive and organised Operations Assistant to join our operations team. This is a key role supporting the Operations Manager in managing the day-to-day running of a busy 24/7 manufacturing site with four shifts of production employees.

About the Role

As Operations Assistant, you'll play a vital part in keeping our site running smoothly and efficiently. You'll support the Operations Manager in coordinating production activities, maintaining performance data, and ensuring effective communication across all departments, including extrusion, conversion, and recycling operations.

You'll also help with scheduling, reporting, and coordinating between teams to meet production goals, while providing administrative support for onboarding, compliance activities. Support the Operations Manager and HR team with employee relations processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily site operations by maintaining performance data, monitoring workflow efficiency, and ensuring departments remain aligned with production priorities.
  • Coordinate communication between production shifts and departments.
  • Provide shared out-of-hours and on-call support for the 24/7 site (covering sickness, rescheduling, and production issues), in rotation with the Operations Manager
  • Maintain accurate operational records and safety documentation.
  • Assist with onboarding and training coordination alongside HR and the Training Coordinator.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and process efficiency initiatives.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and compliant work environment.

About You

  • Experience in an operations or manufacturing environment (preferably plastics or extrusion).
  • Supervisory or team coordination experience is an essential.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Confident communicator with solid Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
  • Able to work independently, make decisions, and stay calm under pressure.
