Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of HGV vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal operational performance. Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HGV's, machinery and various plant in use
  • Diagnose faults accurately using specialised tools and diagnostic equipment, but not essential
  • Repair or replace faulty components to minimise downtime
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities and repairs performed
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure safety standards are upheld at all times
  • Ensure work areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a mechanic or in a similar technical role
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components, but not essential
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams effectively, but not essential
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
  • Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds are desirable, but not essential
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
