Mike England Timber Company is an independent timber merchant based in Hoghton Preston, which has been operating since 1969. We supply UK based builders, construction companies, builders' merchants, DIY outlets and timber suppliers with a wide variety of premium quality certified timber. We only source our timber from sustainable well managed European forests. Our goal is to ensure we provide our customers with the best quality timber whilst also maintaining a strong environmental ethos.
Our specialist machining and timber coatings experience, means that we are uniquely positioned to offer a wide range of bespoke services, allowing to produce any quantity of timber to best suit customer requirements. Role Overview
We are looking for an office-based internal sales representative to join our team.
You will play a key role in building customers relationships, driving sales growth, and supporting the rest of the sales team. The role will also involve using our IT systems where you will enter sales orders, as well as track sales and margin performance against monthly targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Account Management:
Build, maintain, and grow existing customer accounts to drive repeat business. - Lead Generation:
Identify potential new customers, generate leads, and convert them into sales opportunities. - Product Knowledge:
Develop a strong understanding of our products and services to effectively communicate benefits and features to customers. - Market & Competitor Awareness:
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs, to help shape and refine sales strategies. - System Administration:
Enter customer orders onto our IT systems.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in a sales role would be advantageous but not essential.
- An understanding of timber products is essential.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work well within a team and assist in different areas when necessary.
- Familiarity with IT systems and sales reporting.
- Familiarity with basic Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
