We're on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we're shaping finance for good. We're focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone. Including you.

Job Description

As the Global Head of Talent Acquisition and Operations, you'll lead a high-impact, globally distributed team responsible for shaping and delivering the organisation's end-to-end hiring strategy with the outcome of hiring and retaining the best technology, data and banking talent across the industry and driving an exceptional end-to-end candidate and hiring manager experience.

Oversee a blend of senior TA leaders – including those aligned to regional and functional portfolios, and also lead some critical operational leaders who deliver a set of services to our colleagues – ranging from high volume recruitment to vetting and SMCR operations.

In this pivotal role, you'll define the strategic direction of the global TA function, ensuring it is future-fit, insight-led, innovative and aligned with the organisation's broader people and business priorities.

You'll also be accountable for embedding a culture of continuous improvement, data-driven decision-making, and exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience—while championing diversity, equity, and inclusion at every stage of the hiring journey.

You'll achieve this through:

Team leadership - Provide strategic leadership to a global multi-functional team of highly skilled senior TA leaders and operational leaders, setting a clear vision for success and innovation.

Reinventing Talent Acquisition for the future - Define and implement a global TA strategy aligned with business growth, transformation, and workforce planning. Lead the evolution of hiring practices, integrating AI, automation, and market intelligence.

Stakeholder collaboration - Act as a strategic advisor to senior business leaders. Lead executive-level discussions on workforce planning, critical hiring, and organisational design.

External thought leadership - Maintain strong external relationships and profile to ensure LBG is always on the pulse of the talent cohorts which are strategically important to our business success.

Reporting, analytics and data driven insights - Building a data ecosystem that interrogates the end-to-end process from generating recruitment demand to ensuring the new hires land effectively in the business. Understanding the importance of risk, governance and data within the boundaries of a highly regulated financial services business.

Driving a technology roadmap - Utilising technology to blend digital and human interactions to provide the best candidate experience, whilst ensuring candidate integrity. Effectively using AI driven tools.

What we're looking for from you
  • A visionary and pragmatic leader with a proven ability in scaled talent acquisition strategy and operations.
  • Utilise external insights and experience to know what an amazing end-to-end candidate and colleague experience looks like, and you have the passion and leadership to deliver it, through balancing strategic foresight with operational rigour.
  • Understand the importance of technology, blended with the human touch to create memorable candidate and colleague interactions.
  • Commercially astute, with the confidence to influence at all levels of an organisation and the humility to listen, learn, and adapt.
  • Thrive in ambiguity, navigate change with resilience, and bring clarity to complexity.
  • Passionate about inclusive hiring and understand the power of data, technology, and storytelling in shaping strategy and delivery of operations.
  • Lead with empathy, develop others intentionally, and foster cultures where people do their best work.
We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:
  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%
  • An annual performance-related bonus
  • Share schemes including free shares
  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping
  • 30 days' holiday, with bank holidays on top
  • A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies
About Working For Us

Our ambition is to be the leading UK business for diversity, equity and inclusion supporting our customers, colleagues and communities and we're committed to creating an environment in which everyone can thrive, learn and develop.

We were one of the first major organisations to set goals on diversity in senior roles, create a menopause health package, and a dedicated Working with Cancer Initiative.

We offer reasonable workplace adjustments for colleagues with disabilities, including flexibility in office attendance, location and working patterns. And, as a Disability Confident Leader, we guarantee interviews for a fair and proportionate number of applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the role with a disability, long-term health or neurodivergent condition through the Disability Confident Scheme.

We provide reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process to reduce or remove barriers. Just let us know what you need.

If you're excited by the thought of becoming part of our team, get in touch. We'd love to hear from you.

At Lloyds Banking Group, we're driven by a clear purpose; to help Britain prosper. Across the Group, our colleagues are focused on making a difference to customers, businesses and communities. With us you'll have a key role to play in shaping the financial services of the future, whilst the scale and reach of our Group means you'll have many opportunities to learn, grow and develop.

We keep your data safe. So, we'll only ever ask you to provide confidential or sensitive information once you have formally been invited along to an interview or accepted a verbal offer to join us which is when we run our background checks.  We'll always explain what we need and why, with any request coming from a trusted Lloyds Banking Group person.

We're focused on creating a values-led culture and are committed to building a workforce which reflects the diversity of the customers and communities we serve. Together we're building a truly inclusive workplace where all of our colleagues have the opportunity to make a real difference.
