Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality dishes, and maintaining exceptional food safety standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with strong leadership skills to contribute to a vibrant hospitality environment. The Sous Chef will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, managing food production, and supporting the overall culinary excellence of our establishment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of a diverse range of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards.
  • Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Oversee food production processes, maintaining consistency and quality across all menu items.
  • Lead by example in food preparation, cooking, and plating techniques to uphold the restaurant's reputation for excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures.
  • Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu development, seasonal specials, and innovation in culinary offerings.
  • Maintain a positive team environment through effective communication, training, and mentorship of junior staff members.

Experience

  • Proven supervisory experience within a busy kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills with experience managing kitchen teams effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards.
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced restaurant environment is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with serving procedures and hospitality operations will be advantageous. This role is ideal for a passionate culinary professional eager to develop their career within a supportive team dedicated to culinary excellence.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Apprenticeship

Pay: £12.90-£13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
