The Growth Company (GC)
Education and Skills team is seeking a dynamic Business Advisor to manage and grow a portfolio of employers primarily in the Construction sector across Greater Manchester and the Northwest. The role involves promoting GC as a Training Provider of choice, driving employer engagement and delivering tailored recruitment and workforce development solutions to boost customer acquisition and revenue in line with business targets.

The Advisor will ensure job roles and placements support successful Apprenticeships and in-work progression, minimising early leaver rates and meeting all learning requirements, including on-the-job training and core skills in Maths, English, and ICT.

Please note that this role will be a hybrid role but based at the Trafford Park Skills Centre. The successful candidate must have a valid driving licence and access to a car.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive sales performance by meeting targets and promoting GC products and services aligned with company strategy.
  • Build and manage employer relationships through account management, networking, and tailored workforce solutions.
  • Execute proactive sales activity including cold calling, telesales, and digital campaigns to attract employers and candidates.
  • Match candidates to programmes with the support of our Recruitment Team by assessing business needs and aligning them with suitable apprenticeships and training opportunities.
  • Manage recruitment and placements by maintaining a candidate portfolio, filling vacancies efficiently and supporting learner progression.
  • Ensure safeguarding and quality by placing learners appropriately and adhering to Health & Safety and ESFA requirements.
  • Contribute to business growth through cross-sector collaboration, tender support, personal development, and flexible working.

About you:

  • Strong understanding of work-based learning pathways and Apprenticeship Standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of business support services available across Greater Manchester.
  • Familiarity with funding bodies and requirements such as DfE, ASF and other relevant schemes.
  • Skilled in engaging and motivating young people and employers, with the ability to influence and build lasting relationships.
  • Proactive, resilient, and values-driven professional committed to delivering role-specific outcomes.
  • Consistently represent the Growth Company with professionalism and integrity.

Skills Required:

  • Proven ability to assess employer needs and develop tailored solutions, including business proposals.
  • Minimum two years in sales and employer engagement, with a strong track record in skills training and recruitment services.
  • Skilled in delivering persuasive sales pitches and negotiating with businesses of all sizes.
  • Results-oriented with experience thriving in performance-focused environments.
  • Effective communicator across all business levels, offering guidance and pastoral support to employers and young people.
  • Strong organisational skills with expertise in managing recruitment processes from start to finish.
  • Solid understanding of GC and divisional offerings, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
