Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with children. This role involves creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the development and well-being of young children. The Nursery Practitioner will play a key role in supporting the management team and ensuring high standards of care and education are maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care and education for children aged 0-5 years, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Plan and implement engaging activities that promote learning through play, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, maintaining open communication to support children's development.
  • Observe and assess children's progress, keeping accurate records to inform planning and share with parents.
  • Support the management team in maintaining a clean, safe, and organised nursery environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Assist with daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and outdoor play, ensuring all children are included and engaged.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualifications in Early Childhood Education or Childcare (Level 2 or Level 3 preferred).
  • Previous experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting is essential.
  • Strong management and leadership skills to support colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with children, parents, and staff.
  • A valid driving licence is advantageous for potential outings or transport needs.
  • A commitment to safeguarding children's welfare and promoting their development through appropriate practices.
